Dr Cooke graduated from Nottingham University Medical School in 1999. She has over 15 years’ experience in dermatology and has been working as a Consultant Dermatologist in the NHS since 2011. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of both the British and Irish Association of Dermatologists. She has an interest in medical education and gained a Postgraduate Certificate in Medical Education from the University of Dundee. She is currently Biologics Lead in Dermatology in the South Eastern Trust and won the NI Healthcare Award with her team in 2022 for their ongoing quality improvement work in safe prescribing of systemic drugs in dermatology.

Dr Cooke has a particular interest in diseases of the hair and scalp, and is an active member of the British Hair and Nail Society (BHNS). She has been involved in published research looking at the causes of scarring alopecia and has contributed articles for the BHNS newsletter. Dr Cooke regularly attends national and international hair research meetings to gain ongoing experience and keep up to date in the ever-changing world of hair and scalp disorders. She recently completed additional specialist training in trichosopy of hair and nail disorders run by Cardiff University.

Dr Cooke has considerable experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of skin problems including skin cancer, pigmented lesions, acne, eczema, psoriasis as well as other less common skin conditions. She regularly performs dermatological procedures including skin biopsies, excision/removal of skin lesions, intralesional steroid injections and cryotherapy. Dr Cooke is happy to see children and adults aged 1 year or older.
