Damian McGrogan is a Consultant General and Transplant Surgeon at the Belfast Health and Social Care Trust based primarily at the Belfast City Hospital.
Mr McGrogan specialises in renal failure surgery, hernia surgery and benign skin lesions (cysts and lipomas). He completed his research whilst working in Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Birmingham and complemented his clinical training from Northern Ireland with a subspecialty placement in Manchester Royal Infirmary.
Mr McGrogan’s memberships include Member British Hernia Society, Member VASBI and Member British Transplant Society. He is involved in teaching at both under and post graduate level including being a Course Director for START (Systematic Training in Acute illness Recognition and Treatment) (RCSEng), the Faculty for Basic Surgical Skills (RCSEng), Clinical Supervisor for third year medical students at Queens University Belfast and Clinical Supervisor for Specialist Surgical Trainees with NIMDTA.
